This fall, please join us for a series of programs focused on “A Way in the Wilderness” – the way in which God leads us through challenging times to renew and revitalize our faith and our lives. It’s all based on God’s promise in Isaiah 43:19:
I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Our church is a place where our community gathers to learn, discern, discover, celebrate, mourn, heal and grow together. PLEASE JOIN US as we explore our wilderness journey this past year, and how we approach the future that God has in store.
Programs begin September 12, but you can join us any time throughout the fall!
Our Sunday and weekday classes will focus on stories of resilience, healing, and hope. Together, we will be encouraged to reflect on the ways that God has sustained God’s people through challenging seasons---and the ways that God shows us forward now and into the future. Since 2014, we have gathered together as a church family to read a common book; to discuss, share, and learn from the characters’ journeys. These readings have given us opportunities to walk in the shoes of others, experiencing different time periods, class, gender, and ethnicity. This year’s book selection is This Tender Land, an epic tale about the life-changing journey of four orphans during the Great Depression, and how love, faith, determination and hope connect us all. Click here for the schedule of events, including a discussion with the author, William Kent Krueger!
We are organizing a fabulous weekend of events to celebrate our church past, present and future – how Wayne Presbyterian Church has been a church “home” for over 150 years – joined by many of our beloved pastors who have led us in the past.
We also celebrate our ability to return to worship and fellowship after the long year of gathering virtually – coming back together to reconnect, heal, and grow in our community of faith. Click here (link to Homecoming page under construction) for more information. ALL are welcome!
