The Board of Deacons facilitates its ministries with a membership of 36 Deacons.  For 2018, we are expanding this to 42 Deacons as we wish to reach more members of our church family through increased visitation.

Anyone in the congregation who feels a connection to the work of the Deacons is encouraged to participate.  In keeping with the Presbyterian Church (USA) Book of Order, once ordained, Deacons bear that responsibility for life.  Deacons shall assume duties as assigned by Session including assisting with the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper.

The board is divided into three committees

  • Care and Compassion
  • Congregational Services
  • Community Service

These three committees lead, organize and facilitate all our Deacon Ministries.  For a listing of our Deacon Ministries, please click here.

Care and Compassion

Care and Compassion

We are mindful that individuals who cannot easily attend church services and events, or are not computer saavy, or are struggling for other reasons, may be feeling isolated from their Wayne Presbyterian family.  We currently provide services in these areas, and are always looking for new ways to reach our entire family going forward.
