In addition to Sunday School and worship opportunities, children can participate in many events throughout the year to build community through family fellowship and mission activities.
Check the church calendar for the current schedule.
Here are some of our favorites.
-Dinner and a Movie
Throughout the school year, Kelli Masters, Director of Children’s Ministries, invites all children from Kindergarten through 5th grade to bring sleeping bags, pillows, stuffed animals and friends and join her in the chapel to eat pizza and popcorn and enjoy a popular kids’ movie. It’s a great way for kids to get to know each other and bring friends to the church for a night of fun and fellowship, while parents can enjoy fellowship on their own!
-Vacation Bible School
Children from preschool through fourth grade are invited to join our dedicated teams of adult and teen teachers for an exciting week of ministry, mission, music, art, fun and fellowship. We enthusiastically welcome children from all over our community to join us for this wonderful celebration of God’s gifts of love and salvation.
-Family Advent Celebration
On the first Sunday in Advent, families gather in the Chapel for a spirited celebration of the joyful season ahead. Children make awesome age-appropriate crafts, then families enjoy a huge pasta dinner and desserts, followed by Christmas hymns accompanied by piano, guitar, violin and flute. It’s a night of art, food, music and celebration to usher in the spirit of the season together.
-Lenten Pancake Breakfast
We begin the season of Lent with a full pancake breakfast hosted by our fifth grade Sunday School class. We’re told that the smell of pancakes and sausage actually reaches the sanctuary, bringing congregants to the chapel for feasting and fellowship. During the event, we collect an offering to support the needs of a mission partner.
-First Grade Bible Celebration
Each May, first graders receive their first “real” Bible in a ceremony during worship, after which all Sunday School students come forward to join together to sing the books of the Bible together. After the service, the congregation is invited to celebrate this important milestone at a reception in the chapel.
-4th and 5th Grade Lock-in
The “big kids” get to stay overnight at the church on a Friday in the Spring. In addition to having great fun and fellowship, kids will work on creating the sanctuary decorations for the upcoming Vacation Bible School.
