The Chancel Choir leads weekly Sunday morning worship. The choir is open to adults—members and non-members. There are no auditions for the choir but some ability to read music is helpful. Consider yourself qualified if you've ever sung in a choir before or taken any music lessons. Singing in a choir is a powerful tool toward a more significant relationship with God, and through worship, a gateway to deeper understanding.
The choir rehearses Thursdays at 7:30 to 9:00 pm, September through May under the direction of Dr. Kirsten Santos Rutschman. The choir prepares hymns, anthems and responses for Sunday worship in the first hour. Each choral section of the Chancel Choir is supported by a professional singer.
During the summer, many Chancel Choir members participate in Summer Choir. Summer Choir rehearses at 9:30 am in the Music Room, and then sings for worship at 10:30 am. Singers are invited to sing with the choir as their summer schedule permits. The Summer Choir does not wear robes. Singers from the church and community are invited to join in as well without any long term commitment.
