We hope you will be a part of the Annual WPC Women’s Retreat on February 2 and 3, 2018. We’ll be at St. Raphaela Center (616 Coopertown Rd., Havertown, PA 19041), a beautiful and cozy old house. St. Raphaela offers plenty of sunlit space for fellowship, quiet and worship. They’ll provide the meals and have a wonderful meeting space for us. Rooms are single or double occupancy with simple amenities.
Our retreat leader this year is Rev. Judith Brackett. Judith is an ordained PC(USA) pastor. Before entering Princeton Theological Seminary in 2010, Judith was a teacher for over 20 years. Having spent most of her adult life in first grade, she jokes that she is able to see the six year old in everybody. Judith has served churches in suburban and urban Philadelphia. She enjoys participating in and creating opportunities for education and reflection. Judith has led numerous spiritual retreats for women at area churches.
There is a wonderful program planned - You were created by God for God’s holy purposes. This weekend retreat will explore what it means to make room in our hearts for more - more of what God wants for us. We make room for God by enlarging our hearts, crossing new thresholds, and entering new spaces in our lives. Together, we will pay attention to how we can make room to host the One who desires to take up residence in us by converting old space and using it for a new purpose. This spiritual work of becoming will include prayer, Bible study, discussion, small group conversation, and time to connect with other WPC women.
Retreat check-in is Friday, February 2 by 5:30pm, with appetizers and fellowship from 6:00-7:00pm. We will enjoy time with Judith on Friday night. We begin Saturday morning at 9am and end with worship at 3:30pm. Read more about the retreat in the brochure here.
