Our regular youth programming will continue in September, but we have plenty of activities for young people this summer. Here is a link to our summer schedule:
For a description of why we do what we do, check out our 2017-2018 youth ministry pamphlet: Youth Ministry Pamphlet.
Any forms needed for events and trips can be found here.
Our youth programs involve youth from Middle School and High School. Led by Andrew and Sarah, a typical week in the life of a youth includes Sunday school (9:30am), Sunday evening youth group, Chill (middle school), anchor (high school) and rehearsals for the youth choir. Throughout the school year, the weekends are chock-full of goodness with retreats, lock-ins, concerts, and service days. The summers are packed with mission trips, conferences and other fun activities.
Sunday school is a place where your youth can deepen their understanding of God by learning more about scripture, and God's blessings. This begins September 10.
6th and 7th will meet Sundays at 9:30am in rooms 208/209.
8th graders have Confirmation on Sundays at 9:30am in the Wayne Senior Center (by the train station).
High School will meet Sundays in room 203 at 9:30am.
Summers: youth worship with their families
Our youth groups for our middle school youth and our high school youth is a little more high energy than Sunday School. On Sunday nights fom 6-8pm we gather in rooms 208/209 to hang out with our friends, eat, play games, and talk about how faith and the world around us meet. Some nights we also worship, or participate in service, or just play games all night. Hold onto your socks, because you never do know what you are getting yourself into each week you come to youth group!
Youth Group Kickoff is September 16 from 6-8pm, and all youth invited! Parents, we would love for you to stop by as well to fill out some forms and pay for your youth's dinner bill for the semester. We also need parents to take turns providing dessert and veggies.
If you are in 8th grade or have not been confirmed, this is a place for you to enter into deeper thought and understanding about the Presbyterian Church and what you believe. This class will meet in the Senior Center on Sundays at 9:30am. Parents, come to our brief information session on September 10 at 10:40am at the Senior Center.
Do you enjoy singing with friends or singing in chorus at school? If so we have the place for you. Come join youth choir, all youth are invited on Sunday nights just before youth group at 5pm. The first practice is September 9. If you have questions or are interested in getting your youth signed up contact Tim Evers: firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also check out their webpage HERE. Their first rehearsal is September 10.
Middle schoolers, do you feel worn out or bored? Then the Chill is just what you need. Come to church on Wednesday afternoons from 3-4:30pm to hang out with your friends, snack, play video games, doodle, build crazy forts, and anything else you want to do! Grab a friend from school, come on over just after school ends. The first Chill is September 26!
High schoolers, starting September 26 from 6-7:30pm we will be hanging out at the Hostetters' house every Wednesday. What will we be doing? Some baking, playing video games, watching movies, catching up on life over coffee or tea, cracking up over a game of fishbowl, cooking hot dogs over bonfires... really just enjoying life together. Contact Sarah to learn more and to get directions to our house: email@example.com. All high schoolers are welcome!
