The Personnel Committee is appointed by and operates at the behest of the Session. The mission of the Personnel Committee is to provide an orderly, focused, and considerate way for the Session to build a healthy work environment; to recommend to the Session policies, procedures and practices that anticipate outcomes before they happen; to provide counsel and support for clergy and staff; to develop shared expectations and to provide a place where issues can be addressed. The Committee carries out its mission by working closely with the Senior Pastor/Head of Staff and by establishing personnel policies to assure prudent and equitable human resource administration. This includes acting in advisory capacity with the Senior Pastor/Head of Staff, and working closely with the Director of Business Operations and Treasurer to administer the Church’s personnel budget to assure appropriate compensation and benefits to all staff.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with hiring pastors and staff.
- Oversee the personnel budget.
- Manage updates to the Employee Handbook.
- Assist with processes for annual reviews and staff development.
- Develop ways to express gratitude to WPC employees for their dedication and hard work.
