Communications & Technology Committee Elder

Craig Stock

Biography

Craig is a native Iowan but has lived in the Philadelphia area since 1981. He and his wife, Rosalie Phipps, joined Wayne Pres about 10 years ago and were married in the church in 2016. Their blended family includes four adult children—Aaron Stock, Leslie, Lyle and Nathan Phipps—and a granddaughter, Zemira Stock. After graduating from the University of Kansas, Craig worked as a journalist for 20 years—first in Wichita, Ks., then at the Philadelphia Inquirer, where he wrote about personal finance, economics, and served five years as business editor. In 1995, he went to Vanguard, the mutual fund company, eventually heading Corporate Marketing & Communications before retiring after 21 years.

At Wayne Presbyterian, he is finishing his second three-year term as a Deacon and serves as coordinator of our ushers. He’s grateful for the many options for learning, particularly Joe Modica’s classes and the Wednesday and Thursday men’s gatherings for bible study.
