Rick has been a WPC member for 25 years, having settled in Valley Forge after living in Charlotte, NC, Bucks County, PA and Philadelphia. Rick grew up as a Roman Catholic, attending Catholic schools through his graduation from St. Joseph’s University. He and his wife, Lora, were married at Old Pine Presbyterian Church in Society Hill and were members of Presbyterian Churches in Bucks County and Matthews, NC as they raised their son, Ian.
Rick has served as Elder at Anchor Presbyterian Church and a previous term on Session at Wayne as chair of the Discipleship Committee, as well as Deacon at WPC. Rick was a youth volunteer for many years on Sunday nights for the “Rock” and “Door” programs and on the Youth Committee. In more recent years, he has contributed to the Adult Education Committee, on the APNC that called Pastor Katy Shevel, and helped start the Sunday morning “Fellowship of the Bean” discussion group. Rick is a trained facilitator for the Walking The Mourners Path program.
Having spent his career in the insurance industry with several insurers, Rick started his own firm, Magis Insurance Group, in Wayne a dozen years ago. He enjoys rooting on the Philly sports teams, especially the Phillies, having attended many Spring Training games and all of the World Series games in recent years. He is also an avid Hawks fan, having had season tickets to SJU basketball for more than twenty years.
