A Three Class Series March 9th, 16th, and 23rd in the Chapel
Music is beautiful. It stirs our hearts and shapes our imaginations. Human beings have always been driven to express ourselves creatively through music and the arts. In the Wayne Oratorio Society’s upcoming concert series this April, we are invited to experience how great music renders our innermost beliefs about God and the world around us. Karl Jenkins’ The Peacemakers, drawing on texts from some of the greatest theological thinkers of our time, and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, which sets the “Ode to Joy” by Fredrich Schiller, summon us to experience what the theological themes of peace and joy sound like. Join Tim Evers and Katy Shevel for a collaborative three-part discussion interpreting the theology, context, and beauty behind the music of Karl Jenkins’ The Peacemakers and Beethoven’s Ninth.
