WPC Book Club

Please join us in March for a book club discussion around The Color of Water, by James McBride. McBride is a talented author, journalist and musician who debuted his inspiring memoir in 1996. He alternates chapters between his story and the story of his mother, a white Jewish woman who fled an abusive father in the American south. She lands in New York City and finds faith, love, and community with a black pastor and the church that he serves. McBride discovers that to understand who he is, he needs to understand the story of his often secretive mother.

While this may be a familiar book to many, it is worth reading or revisiting as we recognize Black History Month here at Wayne Presbyterian Church. Please purchase your own book or borrow one from your local library!
