The Session is pleased to announce that the Nominating Committee has selected a slate of nominees for the Pastor Nominating Committee to conduct the search for the next senior pastor of Wayne Presbyterian Church. Please plan to attend a congregational meeting on Sunday, July 9 at 11:00 a.m. (immediately following 10:00 a.m. worship) to vote to elect the following nominees:

We will distribute bios of the nominees in advance of the meeting. Please join us in thanking these dedicated members for their willingness to serve.

The Session has also carefully discerned and approved a plan for the leadership of the church until the new senior pastor is called. During this remaining interim period, Rev. Liz Wagner, Rev. Katy Shevel, Director of Operations and Finance John Pitocchelli and the Session will provide the spiritual, pastoral, operational and organizational leadership of the church. The Session also agreed to allocate funds to provide additional compensation to our pastors over this time period as they perform additional work in the absence of a senior pastor. We are confident that our leadership team is equipped, inspired and led by the Holy Spirit to follow the path before us.

We are also pleased to inform you that Kirsten Santos Rutschman will remain as our Interim Director of Music until a new director is hired and in place, and John Grecia will be with us through the end of the year as the Interim Director of the Wayne Oratorio Society. They are extraordinary leaders of our music programs, and we are blessed with their leadership during this transition.

We are constantly reminded that the most important work of the church is done by you – our members. As the leadership transition has progressed, our volunteers -- teachers, singers, musicians, ushers, greeters, servers, lectors, caregivers, prayer teams, callers, drivers, visitors, decorators, fixers and more – are the ones who have continued to fulfill our mission to share the ministry of Jesus Christ. We praise God for our true “priesthood of all believers,” as we humbly heed God’s direction for the future of our church.
