Sarah Hostetter is the Director of Mission and Associate Director of Youth Ministry. She graduated from Eastern University in 2011 where she majored in Elementary Education with a focus on English as a Second Language and Missions and Anthropology. She graduated with her Masters of Divinity from Palmer Theological Seminary in 2018. Growing up in a missionary family, she felt called to the mission field at a very young age. When she was young her dream job would have been to hug children in Africa. This has developed into a desire to walk alongside youth here on the mainline as they struggle with identity and worth in this success driven culture and embark on their faith journey. She is passionate about engaging the congregation and young people in using their gifts in the life of the church, especially when it comes to loving our neighbors through walking hand in hand with our various mission partners.
She got married to her best friend Andrew Hostetter in August 2011 and is excited to work alongside him in ministry here at WPC.
When Sarah is not working with youth, or planning intergenerational vision trips with our PCUSA mission partners in Guatemala she enjoys beating her husband at Settlers of Catan, running, spending time with family and friends, reading a good historical fiction novel and then traveling to a new community to meet the locals and glean their wisdom.
Sarah’s favorite hobby is building relationships with people. She enjoys anything that involves making connections and learning about people’s lives. This is what excites her most about working at Wayne Presbyterian Church, meeting a lot of people, and being allowed to talk and drink coffee for a living.
