    Although Jane Nelson Beatty was born in Cincinnati, she graduated from Lower Merion High School and has been involved with the local community and WPC for most of her life having been a member here for 60 years.  When she graduated from Mt. Holyoke, she went to work as a journalist for Time-Life reporting in the Religion and Science Departments.  She later went to graduate school at Penn getting a Master’s in Education and took a position as a Title I reading specialist at Haverford High School.    Here at WPC, she taught Sunday School and was asked by Rev. John Galloway, Sr. in 1970 to write the 100-year history of the church which you can find in our Library.  Her love of teaching and care of those...

      George Matthias Aman, III, has deep roots in Wayne Presbyterian Church (WPC) and in the community of Wayne.  Like his father before him, George was baptized at WPC, and in the 90-plus ensuing years, he has been intimately involved in the life of the church and the town.  After his early education in Radnor public schools and WPC Sunday School, George went to Princeton University and Harvard University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts and law degree, respectively.  Following his service as a 2nd lieutenant in the Korean War, George returned to Wayne to practice law, with a particular interest in tax exempt bond and municipal law.  This experience was invaluable when he served more than two terms as a Radnor...

        Edward L. (Ted) Behr III

        Edward L. (Ted) Behr III grew up in Plainfield, NJ. Soon after high school, he joined the US Army, and started to experience parts of the world that would indelibly be a part of his life’s work, his Christian faith, and his sense of call to always be learning, teaching, and serving. Ted’s Army stint in Japan and Korea also provided him a GI Bill college education at Indiana University and led to his destiny meet-up with his beloved Dorothea. By the time Ted and his family arrived at Wayne Presbyterian Church in 1971, Ted’s work with pharmaceutical and cosmetic companies had taken him, and sometimes his family, to Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, and Indonesia.
